Wexford Carol
Good people all, this Christmas-time,
Consider well and bear in mind
What our good God for us has done,
In sending his beloved Son.
With Mary holy we should pray
To God with love this Christmas day;
In Bethlehem upon that morn
There was a blessed Messiah born.
With thankful heart and joyful mind,
The shepherds went the Babe to find,
And as God's angel had foretold,
They did our Savior Christ behold.
Within a manger He was laid,
And by His side the Virgin Maid,
Attending on the Lord of life,
Who came on earth to end all strife.
Silent Night (Stille Nacht)
Silent night, holy night,
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child,
Holy Infant so tender and mild.
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace.
Silent night, holy night,
Son of God, love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face,
With the dawn of redeeming grace.
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth,
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth.
Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht,
Alles schläft; einsam wacht.
Nur das traute hochheilige Paar.
Holder Knabe im lockigen Haar.
Schlaf in himmlischer Ruh,
Schlaf in himmlischer Ruh!
O Come Little Children
(Ihr Kinderlein Kommet)
Oh come, little children, Oh come, one and all!
Oh come to the cradle in Bethlehem’s stall!
Come, see what has happened this holiest night;
Come, gaze on the gift from the Father of Might.
How sweetly He lies in His bed made of straw,
As Mary and Joseph behold Him in awe!
The shepherds are kneeling before His poor bed,
While caroling angels are heard overhead.
Ihr Kinderlein, kommet, O kommet doch all!
Zur Krippe her kommet in Bethlehem’s Stall.
Und seht, was in dieser hochheiligen Nacht
Der Vater im Himmel für Freude uns macht.
I'll Be Home For Christmas
I'm dreaming tonight of a place I love,
Even more than I usually do.
And although I know it's a long road back,
I promise you…
I'll be home for Christmas,
You can count on me.
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents ‘neath the tree.
Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light gleams.
I'll be home for Christmas,
If only in my dreams.
Silver Bells
Christmas makes you feel emotional.
It may bring parties or thoughts devotional.
Whatever happens or what may be,
Here is what Christmas time means to me.
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks
Dressed in holiday style.
In the air there's a feeling of Christmas.
Children laughing, people passing,
Meeting smile after smile,
And on every street corner you hear:
Silver Bells, SilverBells
It's Christmas time in the city.
Ring-a-ling, hear them ring,
Soon it will be Christmas day.
Strings of street lights even stop lights,
Blink a bright red and green,
As the shoppers rush home with their treasures.
Hear the snow crunch, see the kids bunch,
This is Santa's big scene,
And above all this bustle you hear: (chorus)
O Holy Night! (Cantique de Noel)
O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Savior's birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
‘Til he appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
Fall on your knees! Oh hear the angel voices!
Oh night divine! Oh night when Christ was born!
Oh night divine! Oh night, Oh night divine!
Jingle Bells
Dashing through the snow, in a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go laughing all the way
Bells on bob tails ring, making spirits bright,
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight!
Oh! JingleBells, JingleBells
Jingle all the way.
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh!
Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells
Jingle all the way.
Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh.
A day or two ago I thought I'd take a ride;
And soon Miss Fanny Bright,
She was seated by my side.
The horse was lean and lank,
Misfortune seemed his lot
We got into a drifted bank,
And we, we got upsot!
Now the ground is white,
Go it while you're young
Take the girls tonight
And sing this sleighing song.
Just get a bob-tailed bay,
Two-forty as his speed
Hitch him to an open sleigh
And crack! you'll take the lead!

White Christmas
The sun is shining, the grass is green,
The orange and palm trees sway.
I've never seen such a day
In Beverly Hills, L.A.
But it's December the 24th,
And I am longing to be up North.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where the treetops glisten,
And children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write.
“May your days be merry and bright.
And may all your Christmases be white.”
Winter Wonderland
Over the ground lies a mantel of white,
A heaven of diamonds shine down through the night,
Two hearts are thrillin’
In spite of the chill in the weather.
Love knows no season, love knows no clime,
Romance can blossom any old time.
Here in the open,
We’re walkin’ and hopin’ together!
Sleigh bells ring, are ya listening?
In the lane, snow is glist’nin’,
A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight,
Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland.
Gone away is the bluebird,
Here to stay is a new bird,
He sings a love song as we go along,
Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland!
In the meadow we can build a snowman,
And pretend that he is Parson Brown;
He'll say, “are you married, we'll say, no man,
But you can do the job while you're in town!”
Later on we'll conspire,
As we dream by the fire,
To face unafraid, the plans that we've made,
Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland.
In the meadow we can build a snowman,
And pretend that he's a circus clown;
We'll have lots of fun with Mr. Snowman,
Until the other kiddies knock him down!
When it snows, ain’t it thrillin’?
Though your nose gets a chillin’,
We’ll frolic and play the Eskimo way,
Walkin’ in a Winter Wonderland!
A La Nanita Nana (Sleep, Child, Sleep)
A la nanita nana, nanita ea, nanita ea,
Mi Jesus tiene sueno, bendito sea, bendito sea.
Fuentecilla que corres clara y sonora,
Ruisenor q'en la selva cantando Ilora,
Callad mientra la cuna se balancea.
A la nanita nana, nanita ea.
A la nanita nana, nanita ea, nanita ea.
Sleep, sleep, my little Jesus
May peace attend Thee
May peace attend Thee.
To the world little Savior,
New hope Thou art bringing
All the world, little Savior,
Thy praises singing.
God’s angels hovering o’er Thee,
Chant alleluia,
A la nanita nana, nanita ea.
The Christmas Song
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire,
Jack Frost nipping at your nose,
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos.
Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright.
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight.
They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh.
And every mother's child is gonna spy -
To see if reindeer really know how to fly.
And so, I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two.
Although it’s been said many times, many ways,
“Merry Christmas to You!”
I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day
I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
I thought how, as the day had come,
The belfries of all Christendom
Had rolled along the unbroken song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.
And in despair I bowed my head
“There is no peace on earth,” I said,
“For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men.”
Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
“God is not dead, nor doth He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men.”
I Wonder As I Wander
I wonder as I wander out under the sky,
How Jesus the Savior did come for die,
For poor on’ry people like you and like I…
I wonder as I wander, out under the sky.
When Mary birthed Jesus, t’was in a cow’s stall,
With wisemen and farmers and shepherds and all.
But high from God’s heaven a star’s light did fall,
And the promise of the ages it then did recall.
If Jesus had wanted for any wee thing,
A star in the sky or a bird on the wing,
Or all of God’s angels in heaven for to sing,
He surely could have it, ‘cause He was the King.
I wonder as I wander, out under the sky,
How Jesus the Savior did come for die,
For poor on’ry people like you and like I…
I wonder as I wander, out under the sky.
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas
Have yourself a merry little Christmas.
Let your heart be light.
Next year all our troubles will be out of sight.
Have yourself a merry little Christmas.
Make the Yule-tide gay.
From now on our troubles will be miles away.
Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Will be near to us once more.
Someday soon we all will be together
If the Fates allow.
Until then we'll have to muddle through somehow.
So have yourself a merry little Christmas now.
